Absztrakt (kivonat)

The main topic group, from where the research was made is the cultural differences at workplace. The dissertation examined more deeply and was searching for more specific topics at more specific regions. Nowadays, cultural acceptance and language barriers appear more commonly because of the fast development of societies, travelling is getting easier between countries and cultures are meeting each other all around the world.  The research is focused on the cultural acceptance and language barriers regarding two countries, Bulgaria and Hungary. Both of the countries can be found in Europe, firstly the research is observing both of them individually and secondly, it compares this issue with each other. The Introduction part of the dissertation is giving to the reader the aim of the whole research, and an introduction why this topic is important nowadays and the reason of choosing concretely these two countries. Besides that, it builds up the interest on the topic. After the Introduction part, the literature review is the next, which gives a background knowledge of the topic. This part is built up from twenty previous researches and also a website, which helps at comparing the cultural behaviour differences of countries. Firstly, the literature review gives a background knowledge about the cultural acceptance. It takes the biggest view on this part, because the research of the dissertation is also more orientated on that. The whole cultural acceptance topic is separated into more fields, first it starts with the cultural acceptance at culturally diverse groups, how acceptable, in other words how big the cultural intelligence is at workgroups. It has to be known, that the research mainly focuses on multicultural team works in multicultural corporations. The first part shows the importance of the acceptance at team works. The second part is the pros and cons about intern groups, this part writes about the categorizations of others and themselves.  After these parts, the research is continuing with the introduction of theories, that are giving a background knowledge about what can happen in culturally diverse teams. These theories are the Similarity attraction, Theory and the Social Categorization Theory also the Cultural Divergency, Convergency and Cross- Cultural Competency. After that, the literature review gives a background knowledge about the language barriers. Firstly, it talks about their consequences, what kind of problems can be caused by these barriers. Secondly, the knowledge processing is introduced, which shows in what way participants / group members are communicating with each other. At the end, the research also gives a background knowledge about how these barriers could impact the members’ emotions. The literature review also gives a smaller vision separately about the Bulgarian and the Hungarian culture. In the end, these two countries are compared by the Hofstede six insight model. The research is focusing at his main research question, which is,,What are the barriers to cultural diversity in the workplace of multicultural tams in Bulgaria and Hungary?” Besides that, three hypotheses were made and three smaller questions as well. The research is made by quantitative research through an online questionnaire that reached its target audience through the social media. The questionnaire also contained opened questions, where participants could share their own opinions. In the end, the research did not got representative because of the low number of participants (41 people filled it out in total). The open questions and the numerical graphs are presented at the result part. The Discussion part, as its name also suggests, discussed these results, and could give an answer to almost every hypothesis and smaller research question. Finally, at the discussion part, the main research question did not get a thorough answer coming from the low number of participants, but in a smaller perspective it could say, that the younger generation in Hungary and the older generation in Bulgaria are open, and shows acceptance to other cultures, besides that they also struggle with language barriers, and these can affect their emotions as well.
