Since the reform and opening up, China has achieved a historic leap from a tourism-deficient country to a large tourism country. At the same time, driven by economic development and income growth, China's tourism industry has begun to transform from sightseeing tourism to leisure and vacation tourism. Among the many leisure tourism products, spa tourism is known as the "sunrise industry" in the tourism industry. In recent years, driven by consumption and supported by government policies, China's spa tourism industry has achieved rapid development, but there are still limitations such as slow development. Weihai is located in eastern China, the eastern end of the Shandong Peninsula, and is rich in spa resources. In recent years, Weihai's spa tourism has developed rapidly, and spa tourism and consumption have become an important driving force for Weihai's economic growth. Taking Tianmu Tangquan as an example, this thesis comprehensively analyzes the development of spa tourism in Weihai, Shandong Province, and proposes how Weihai Tianmu Tangquan should learn from each other's strengths and make up for its shortcomings, and eventually become a famous tourist destination. In addition, on the basis of the literature review, the research goal of improving the sustainable development capacity of spa tourism in Weihai is determined, and the characteristics of spa tourism and its influence on spa tourism are introduced, as well as the history and current situation of spa resources development in Weihai, and the development of spa resources in Weihai. The research has a content of advantages, disadvantages, opportunities, and challenges, and then use SWOT analysis, literature research method, and questionnaire survey method to demonstrate the advantages and disadvantages of Weihai Tianmu Tangquan development, and propose that the development of Weihai spa tourism should be protected. Under the premise of ecological resource utilization, it is important to integrate and innovate the existing industrial structure of spa resources, enhance the value of products, and better promote the sustainable development of spa tourism in Weihai.
