Absztrakt (kivonat)

IntroductionTourism, one of the most dynamically developing sectors of the world economy, has experienced unprecedented trauma recently, the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and the restrictive measures that followed have virtually completely crippled the functioning of the sector. With this previous expansionary development has stopped and international tourism has been virtually without performance. After the lifting of the restrictions, life resumed, but at the same time the growth in domestic tourism, foreign visitors are still absent due to fear and uncertainty.   Hungary, medicinal tourism plays a prominent role in its tourism, which is based on natural conditions. The exploitation of the opportunities provided by the medicinal waters is a breakout point for many cities involved in tourism, but at the same time the increased expectations and demands expect a new approach from the actors.Hévíz, home to Hungary’s most popular and visited spas, provides a livelihood for a significant proportion of the city's population through tourism and related services. However, high-quality medical care and high-quality thermal water are no longer sufficient in itself to increase competitiveness, and connected tourism services – accommodation, hospitality, complex tourist products, attractions – are also necessary for the acquisition and retention of visitors. In the first phase of my work, I present the current trends of medical tourism, with special attention to the Hungarian characteristics of the area. After that, I present the development through the development history of Hévíz's spa, which stands out among the Hungarian spa towns, which resulted in the city of Zala becoming the destination chosen by the largest number of tourists after Budapest. The city, which is an integral part of the Balaton tourist destination with its privileged status, practically functions as an independent destination, and the development of its tourist offer is increasingly adapted to the changed consumer needs and expectations. The thermal spa in Hévíz, which is increasingly occurring in the field of the treatment of civilizational diseases due to the economic and social transformation of the modern age, offers opportunities for healing and relaxation for the representatives of older age groups, but in order to increase competitiveness, it is necessary to be able to reach out to other generations and win over the use of services. Through the presentation of recent developments, I highlight the importance of the processes that are taking place today, through which the city can preserve and increase its touristic importance. As a result of the economic and social changes that took place after the turn of the millennium, an increasing number of Russian tourists are trying to enter The Countries of Europe, including Hungary. Hévíz is an increasingly popular destination for Russian tourists thanks to its spa services, but due to the political conflicts and economic problems of the continent-sized country, the number of visits can be called fluctuating. In my thesis I examine the motivations of tourists visiting Hévíz, Hungary, and their changes, on the basis of which, I identify the factors that can help increase the competitiveness of the spa town among Russian tourists. The coronavirus pandemic was a serious challenge for virtually all mankind, as it faced an unprecedented crisis as a result of the pandemic. In addition to health problems, practically the economy had to go through a complete shutdown. Measures taken to prevent the spread of the epidemic had a drastic negative impact on tourism, the number of international visits was limited to a minimum, while domestic tourism also decreased markedly as a result of measures prohibiting the abandonment of residence. In the period following the lifting of the restrictive measures, the habits of tourists changed, in order to examine which, I will review the results and findings of the current research. During the practical phase of my work, I examine the operation of the area through the presentation of the activities of a tourism service company, Robinson Tours Ltd. The company, which operates as a family business, is owned by my parents and uncle, so I feel particularly involved in learning about the motivations of effective and efficient work and the attitudes of management. After presenting the company, I will interview the members of the management, during which I will examine which professional and market factors contributed the most to the successes. Through the presentation of the financial data, I highlight the extent to which the company was successful and efficient during the period prior to the pandemic. During the analysis of the interviews, I examine which factors contributed to the success of the company, to what extent the attitudes of the management members resulted in long-term and effective operation. With theoretical knowledge and practical experience, I draw conclusions and propose the activities necessary to increase the efficiency of the operation, in particular the changed behavior and attitudes of tourists and tourist service providers due to the epidemic.    Medical tourism One of the special areas of tourism as one of the most dynamically developing sectors of the world economy is health tourism, in which medical tourism plays a prominent role. At the same time, there has been a marked increase in prevention and the need for recreation in the area, which has recently developed due to changes in society. Medical tourism, including bathing tourism, has a history of thousands of years, and the wealthy citizens of ancient Rome not only worshipped their passion in the Eternal City, but also visited remote regions in search of positive effects. The conquered territories – provinces – also enjoyed the beneficial effects of Roman bathing culture, and in many parts of the continent we can find memories of antiquity. The emergence of industrial societies then gave new emphasis to the need for health, which has intensified recently (Kincses, 2010). Modern-day trends Demographic and social and economic changes in the 20th and 21st centuries – average age, increase in discretionary income and leisure time, technological development – supported the development of a new trend in tourism. The marked increase in the number of diseases of civilisation – circulatory disorders, gastrointestinal and musculoskeletal disorders – has led attention to the preservation and recovery of health and the prevention of the development of diseases. An increasing proportion of the population of countries with high levels of economic and industrial development is affected by health problems, the management or prevention of which, or even the recovery of physical well-being, can be achieved with great efficiency through tourism trips. Health tourism is therefore a segment of the sector with a range of special tourist products, whose services are an attraction for visitors, as it offers them favourable opportunities in the field of maintaining, regaining or preventing the development of diseases (Michalkó, 2012). In the field of domestic tourism, medicinal waters and thermal waters are of paramount importance, as a result of which medical tourism and health tourism have become almost synonymous in the vernacular, despite the fact that there are significant differences between the two factors. In the case of the definition of health tourism, we can find the concept of trips to maintain and improve the current state of health, as well as other tourist products related to them, while medical tourism is only one segment of health tourism. Nevertheless, nowadays
