Absztrakt (kivonat)

This research is covering the correlation between the age group and the belief around holistic methods used in wellness tourism and the motivation behind a tourist when choosing between holistic or other methods of healing. The first problem investigated is the belief around holistic treatments, how it is perceived by elder generations, by millennials, and generation z in Hungary. The main issue is about to what extent the perception of holistic treatment is changing with the rise of the more health-conscious society. The topic is important in a manner to be able to expand the opportunities on the market of wellness tourism in Hungary. As the Dimensions of wellness tourism in Hungary stated (Printz, et al.,2017) there is an increase in the tourist numbers in wellness tourism where the perspective shifts to relying more on holistic methods. There have been studies about natural methods in wellness tourism and how different countries perceived this as their asset (Meera & Vinodan, 2019), however, in Hungary, there is less information about how the holistic approach is being recognized. This paper will focus on understanding how it is coherent with the popularity of health-consciousness and the acceptance of holistic treatments in Hungary. The research may recognize a wider range of opportunities in wellness tourism in Hungary. It was already proven that people are more interested in their health than before, therefore they may be more engaged in natural ways of treating themselves. What is the motivation of tourists choosing methods of treatment in wellness tourism while travelling? What is the correlation between age and choosing treatment types in wellness tourism? What is the belief around the holistic medicine in wellness tourism of Hungary? It was considered that quantitative measures would usefully supplement and extend the qualitative analysis. Survey and interviewing participants will happen, and conversion of the data collected into numerical data and statistical analysis will be done. The expectation is that the holistic approach is far behind than modern approach in wellness tourism of Hungary, however, there is an increase in interest especially among younger generations to turn to more natural ways of treating themselves while travelling to a wellness destination. The research will be conducted from February 2021 to December 2021. The active researching phase will last at least 3-4 months gathering information and participants. The writing and analysing part will be the last and longest to create. The whole research takes 9 months to complete.   Keywords: wellness; natural; attitude; correlation; holistic medicine
