The paper aims to highlight the importance of the proper marketing strategy in the sales of food supplements and introduce a deeper understanding of the importance of online marketing tools which have a crucial effect on growing demand. The basis of the research is to explore the current and the changing consumer habits on the dietary supplements market. The research will explore the identification of the most effective marketing strategy to maximise the volume of sales of dietary supplement products. To conduct this research and find answer for the research questions a mixed method was used. Both quantitative and qualitative methods are important to get an overall view about the topic. In summary, the market for dietary supplements is broad and growing. The popularity of dietary supplements is also growing and extending to a wide range of age groups. It can be observed that the trends in Hungary have an impact on both the demand and supply of dietary supplements. Health awareness is also emerging, and the rate of expansion among young generation is significant. The results of the study show that the two biggest motivating factors for people to buy such products are treating diseases and preserving health. There is an increasing tendency among Hungarians to order these products online and to be receptive to online advertising.
