Absztrakt (kivonat)
While Vietnam has a rising demand for wellness trips and a great potential for wellness tourism development, the tourism sector is in its infancy and requires the expansion of the currently limited literature review. With a focus on nature-based destinations, this research investigates the main push and pull motivation factors and the attraction to specific destination attributes of Vietnamese wellness domestic tourists. An online questionnaire was conducted with a sample size of 208 Vietnamese born between 1995 and 2009 – generation Z. In a 4-point scale, the most important motivation factors are getting physical rest and relaxation and the security and cleanliness of the destinations, while good customer service and the cool fresh climate attract travelers the most. The paper found that tourists prefer short, affordable, and self-planned tours with wellness as the secondary purpose to travel. From these results, suggestions of wellness tourism products are given for industry players to effectively create development strategies and apply practices in nature-based destinations in Vietnam.
