As a type of cultural tourism, spiritual tourism takes the spiritual element to satisfy people's needs. Therefore, spiritual tourism exploits intangible cultural values, beliefs, religions, spiritual factors, and other extraordinary things to satisfy human needs. Up to the present time, although there are some scientific researches on cultural tourism in Vietnam, there are still no in-depth studies on the development of spiritual and religious tourism here. Therefore, researching the topic determines the feasibility and provides solutions to exploit religious and spiritual resources for tourism. It will be the basis for further research projects on tourism or cultural resource assessment related to spirituality, folk beliefs, or religion. The Creator has given a favourable geographical position, historical traditions and cultural heritage system with a diverse and rich identity. Lang Son is an ideal destination for domestic and foreign tourists. Coming to Lang Son, visitors can sightseeing and explore the majestic sceneries and immerse themselves in a magical space of spirituality at Ky Cung Temple, Mau Dong Dang Temple, Tien Pagoda, and many more. Lang Son has a great potential for tourism, including historical and cultural relics, religious beliefs,  and folk festivals imbued with local cultural traditions. The theory and development of spiritual tourism is a new issue for Vietnam's tourism industry. Therefore, the topic " The Potentials of developing Spiritual Tourism in Lang Son, Northern Vietnam" has made a positive and vital contribution in both theory and practical basis. Research has analysed and summarised the experience in developing spiritual tourism globally and nationally to accomplish the aims of the research topic. Based on analyzing the current status of spiritual tourism activities in Lang Son, suggesting several contents to implement the solutions of the topic in the future successfully. Proposing solutions are an important foundation for creating the master plans, programs and goals for the sustainable development of spiritual tourism in Lang Son.
