Abstract

The main purpose of this research paper is to analyze common characteristics of foreign direct investment in developing countries, especially in Turkey, and to examine what kind of investment promotion policies and investment incentives are used for attracting foreign direct investment. In the paper, the relationship between FDI and growth is deeply investigated by the author, mentioning the positive and negative sides in order to have a decent and clear understanding of two opposing arguments. The main investment strategies and incentive tools used by Turkey have been highlighted in the paper as well, along with the merits and demerits of the country in terms of investment strategy.
