ABSTRACTThe Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) countries are important trading partners of China and are the channels for the trade between Eurasian countries and China, since ancient times, CEE countries have taken on the important role of the "silk road economic belt" transit zone, which is a necessary area of China's journey from land to Eurasia. In the implementation of China's "One Belt and One Road" strategy, the CEE countries are both economically and politically important. The CEE countries are experiencing profound economic restructuring after the european debt crisis, and its vigorously promoting the "eastward opening" policy coincides with China's " One Belt and One Road " vision, the development strategy of both sides fit well, and the cooperation has huge potential.  In September and October 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed a cooperative initiative to build the "New Silk Road Economic Belt" and the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road". This undoubtedly has a long-term and profound impact on the economic and trade development of China and CEE countries. However, as far as the current reality is concerned, the trade volume between China and CEE countries is still small, and there are still some obstacles that restrict the development of trade between China and CEE countries. Therefore, research on the factors that affect the trade cooperation between China and CEE countries and the countermeasures to promote the development of trade between China and CEE countries have become important topics for academic research. This paper analyzes trade development between China and CEE countries, and provides some countermeasures and suggestions for promoting trade between China and Central and Eastern Europe.  The qualitative and quantitative analysis methods are used to analyze the research objects in the research process of the thesis. It can be found that China and CEE countries have experienced four stages of trade development. From the initial low level of diplomatic relations to the current steady state of trade. And there are realistic foundations that can promote trade exchanges between the two sides, such as economic complementarity, logistics channel construction, strong willingness to cooperate and high-end cooperation. Through research, the paper finds factors that hinder the trade potential of China and CEE countries, including differences in the economic and trade environment of CEE countries, small and single forms of trade cooperation, trade barriers and domestic political instability factor. Through research on the factors that affect the trade cooperation between China and CEE countries, this paper proposed following suggestions: accelerate the integration of the Belt and Road and the "16 + 1" model, optimize the import and export commodity trade structure, implement differentiated cooperation methods, build an information exchange platform, and strengthen political and economic cooperation. In this way, the trade development and the construction of the “Belt and Road” between China and CEE countries will be promoted to the greatest extent, which will play a major strategic role in deepening cooperation.
