Absztrakt (kivonat)

The introduction of C&L Group’s supply chain was subject to my dissertation. My research question was: - Is C&L’s supply chain efficient? In order to be able to give proper answer to this question, I used my acquired experiences from the internship, my knowledge from the university, I read through dissertations, books, scientific papers and I could use the company’s internal documents. My thesis consists of five chapters:               In the first chapter, I gave reasons for choosing the topic of my dissertation, and I also introduced the research question and the method of my research.               The second chapter was about the theory of supply chain and reverse supply chain. I highlighted the importance of supply chain management, since efficient operation can contribute to decrease in cost, lead-time and increase in customer satisfaction and profit. The possible risk and tactics to mitigate them were also in focus which can influence supply chain efficiency. I dealt with the importance of trust and relationship between parties, since profitability is exposed to other enterprises’ performance. I applied Porter’s value chain to show, how companies involved in the supply chain add value to the product which can satisfy the needs of customers in exchange for money.               I detailed the history of C&L Group with milestones in chronological order in the third chapter. Furthermore, I introduced both the strategy with explanation and the structure with the responsibilities of the different departments in this distributing company. The brand portfolio was also elaborated to give a better overview of the company’s profile.               The previous chapters served as a basis to investigate the flow of Lebody products from the South Korean manufacturer to the European final customer through many parties. I gave more details about the role of C&L Group in the supply chain. The distributing company regularly oversees not only its own activities, but also the operation of other companies involved in the supply chain. C&L Group also takes part in the activities and in the organization of reverse logistics, that is to say the flow of returns from the final customer to the producer. I also investigated to firm’s relationship with its business partners which is characterized by trust and good communication. The cooperation with other parties is efficient, which contributes to smooth operation. C&L Group is a distributor, which serves as an intermediary between South Korean producers and European business partners, that is why it is crucial to add value to the traded products to gain profit. Primary and support activities are regularly monitored to ensure benefits for the customers.               In the last chapter, I summarized the main parts of my dissertation and I answered the research question. My observations during the period of internship, different literatures and theoretical knowledge from the university made it possible for me to give some recommendations regarding the possible future improvements in the operation of C&L Group, which were all discussed with my supervisor.
