Absztrakt (kivonat)

Tourism is a dynamic, flourishing and ever-growing industry all over the world. People, in contemporary times, have been more interested and keener on traveling and exploring new places than ever before, thus making tourists an important actor in the market. This requires better understanding of how tourists’ experiences impact their authenticity, and the role of authenticity in the formation and creation of overall tourist experience and satisfaction. The current study examines the relationship between authenticity and tourist experience and how it impacts tourist satisfaction as studied under socio-cultural anthropology. An online questionnaire was conducted targeting the city of Budapest, which is ranked as European Best Destination 2019 (BBJ, 2019). The responses were recorded and handled using SPSS 24.0 for frequency analysis, dependability examination, and relationship analysis. The results indicate that Authenticity is an important antecedent which in turn influence tourist experience and enhances tourist satisfaction. Additionally, using secondary data, a further section is inserted targeting the range and scope of Authenticity in tourism and its behavior post COVID-19 pandemic. Keywords: Tourist experience, Authenticity, Socio-cultural Anthropology, Tourist Satisfaction, Tourist behavior, COVID-19
