Abstract

The hotel industry is an essential branch of the world economy since it provides a big contribution to social and economic growth. The hotelier operations generate heavy environmental consequences which lead to the exhaustion of natural resources and global warming. Due to social awareness and pressure, hotels were compelled to start managing these issues and be accountable for their actions. This research paper gives insight into the green practices implemented by three and four-star hotels from the city of Budapest, as well as their communication methods on these. The second part of the paper analyses these green hotelier practices form the guest perspective, namely from the future traveller generation's and their attitude towards sustainable hotels, as well as willingness to pay more.
