Absztrakt (kivonat)

Several types of research have reviewed the topic of religious tourism and its Christian holy sites in Jordan. This study examined the significance of Religious tourism and its Christian Pilgrimage sites for Jordan. The study also identifies the strengths and weaknesses of religious Christian pilgrimage sites in Jordan and the extent of their development, in addition to the opportunities, threats, and risks encountered by the few studies conducted on theses valuable Biblical Holy sites. The study problem lies in what many Pilgrimage sites in Jordan suffer as a result of poor services and lack of proper tourism development plans, which add value to the success of any tourist destination. This thesis used a qualitative research method. Six semi-structured interviews were conducted with Directors and managers of the studied sites from the public and private sectors, for enhanced data collection a more comprehensive insight to analyse the case in the thesis. In conclusion, the incompetence of a combined comprehensive master plan set by direct stakeholders for developing and sustaining the holy sites defects the intended sustainable development goals of these religious sites.
