Every industry has gone through significant evolution and innovation throughout the decades. People have been exchanging, selling and buying food, materials, and instruments since the beginning of civilization. From the invention of money, new payment methods came out, the trade started to develop incredibly fast. New ideas, new ways of commerce started to spread. Business managers throughout the world are constantly innovating and innovating and finding new potential systems and methods, so that their business can stand out. After the invention of the computer and the introduction of the internet, big companies soon realized that this platform would be a new possibility to extend the business. The internet has provided huge possibilities for companies, small firms and even individuals to sell to a global market which was never possible before. Why is innovation and development important to a business? This question is simple, if we do even a small research on the query, it would be clear that there are many reasons why is it crucial to keep up with the evolution, especially if someone wants to start their own enterprise or business. In my thesis I will have a look at some interesting facts of development of internet shopping, how the potential for e-commerce was first realized, which brand started the first e-shop and what modern methods are available for online commerce. The main study will be on the questions of whether is it beneficial for a fashion brand going online and in which country is it the easier to develop. Also, I will give the readers a little view into the future of the online retail market. There will be shown some examples of the online technologies which could become very popular and used by most of the fashion e-boutiques. I hope that this study will help us to have a clearer image of the internet technology used in online retail today the incredibly creative and interesting world of fashion.
